Larry Robinson & Howard Robertson, Co-hosts of A Little R&R on Sports 9-10 a.m. every Saturday on 92.9 FM ESPN
This new one hour, weekly sports entertainment show is co-hosted by Larry Robinson and Howard Robertson from whose common last initial the show’s name is derived. Robinson, a Louisville, KY native is principal and managing partner of Lasting Perceptions, Inc. a marketing and branding firm with strong sports ties including work with NBA-TV. Robertson, born and bred here in Memphis, is president/CEO of TRUST Marketing Inc. one of Memphis’ largest public relations agencies. He is a forty year broadcast advertising veteran as well.
This show is unique in the sports radio landscape locally and nationally. “Two southern, African Americans of different generations co-hosting a sports show doesn’t currently exist anywhere else,” explains Robinson, who conceived the program. They’re proud of the show’s “Everyman appeal.” While both are former high school and college athletes, neither is a former professional athlete nor a professional sports reporter, sportswriter or personality as is the background commonly shared by the vast majority of sports radio hosts.
According to Robertson, “That give us a different perspective on things. We believe we represent and relate to the average Joe out there who played, loves and understands sports but puts it within the context of everyday life. We have fun with it.”
Popular DJ Chris “Superman” McNeil is featured with incredibly creative new school/old school mixes. You’ll enjoy the show segments including: Top of Mind, Iconversation, TAP (There’s A Problem), DJ Superman’s Half Time, Street Talk and Larry’s Lament.
